Summer Days
This summer I have had the privilege of being part of a Vocation Panel for junior high and high school campers at our diocesan Catholic Camp. Panelists have shared their life journey with these young people and “tried to” answer their questions. This has been an amazing experience as I have discovered that most young Catholic people have never even met a Sister, let alone have any regular contact with a woman religious. My other significant summer experience has been meeting with a young woman, Chelsea, who has been discerning a vocation to the Ursuline Sisters. Sharing her spiritual journey has been a real blessing for me. Both of these experiences have caused me to think about the value of religious life. Chelsea’s journey of faith is filled with hope and a great desire to be “sister” to those who serve others through the vocation of religious life.
