Discerning God's Call

As I say “yes” to God and Dominican life each day, I step out in trust. Because God is faithful  I trust that God is with me in the ups and downs of life.

I believe that God’s will for us is fullness of life. I hold onto God’s promise in Isaiah 43:1-5: “Do not be afraid, I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through rough waters, you will not drown; when you walk through fire, you will not be destroyed. . .for I am with you. . .You are precious in my eyes, I love you!”

Discernment is not easy. Sometimes I wish that God’s call would be more direct and clear. Yet God speaks to us in many different ways—through thoughts and feelings,  other people and events, through nature, from insights that come from readings, talks, scripture, music. God’s call is revealed in a myriad of ways.

As a spiritual guide I companion others on their sacred journey. I am in awe that God’s grace is so abundant. Gratitude is my natural response. I hope that you listen to your heart where God dwells in a special way. Find what resonates in your heart. Remember, fullness of life is God’s desire for you.
